"As the Father has loved me, I have also loved you. Remain in my love.
If you keep my commands you will remain in my love,
just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.
I have told you these things so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.
This is my command: Love one another as I have loved you."
John 15:9-12 CSB
Catch ropes and get-down ropes are usually in the 10 - 15' range but I can make them any length you want. As with the standard string, the leather popper is not included in the total measurement.
Standard style is eye splice on one end, leather popper on the other. Call or email for pricing on other options.
Price for standard catch rope or get-down rope, 1/4" rope
Eye splice and popper, 12' long: $18.00
(for different length: + / - $ .40/ft)

Checklist for ordering a String
1. length of string
2. color of string
3. eye splice or custom option
4. color of leather popper or custom option
5. label, if any
A shorter string can make it easier for kids (and shorter adults) to control and effectively use a stick and string. The "Kid String" is 4' long, not including the leather popper. All other features are the same as the standard string.
Price for Kid string, 1/4" rope
Eye splice and popper, 4' length: $15.50
The standard length to pair up with a stick or to tie around your horse's neck as a drive line marker is 5 - 6'.
I measure my strings from end to end of the rope - the popper is not included in the length. Some trainers prefer the total length to be 5' or 6' - including the leather popper - so I make the rope length accordingly. Just let me know what length you want and if you want the popper included in the total length.
Price for standard string, 1/4" rope
Eye splice and popper, 5 - 6' length: $15.50

Strings are handy items to have around. They are thin and light weight but very strong, and have a million-and-one uses. Aside from the obvious uses of attaching to a stick or looping around the horse's neck as a drive line marker, they are a good item to keep in your saddle bag - great for emergencies on the trail, or anywhere. I always carried one with me on the job as a trail guide - I used it as an emergency rein on one occasion and as a quick halter on another. One customer said she used her string to tie a barn door shut in a storm. Another uses hers as a dog leash. The possibilities are endless.
Catch ropes can be more convenient to use than taking a halter and lead rope into the field. Carry the string in your pocket then pull it out and make a quick halter/lead rope to "catch" your horse and bring him in.
Get-down ropes made with 1/4" rope are much lighter than regular lead ropes. If you use a halter under your bridle, you can leave the rope attached to the halter without worrying about the weight. They are great when you "get down" and need to keep your horse with you but don't want to use the reins or a heavier lead rope.
Featherweight lines can also be considered a "string" since they are made with the 1/4" rope. These longer lightweight lines are great for when you don't want a lot of weight to your rope. Good for driving reins and for transitioning to liberty work.
